nums is a daily math puzzle run by JeniusWare LLC. We collect as little as we can to run the game, and you never need to give us your name or email to play.
What we store
- An anonymous device ID. The first time you play, your browser creates a random ID and keeps it in its local storage. It is sent with your submissions so we can show your history and best score. It isn't tied to your name, email or any account.
- Your submissions. Each equation you submit, with its result, score and time, linked to that device ID.
- Your theme choice (light or dark), kept only in your browser.
Analytics and server logs
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits: pages viewed, the referring site, and your country and device type. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you across other websites. Like any website, our hosting provider also keeps short-lived server logs, which include IP addresses, to run and protect the service.
Advertising
nums is supported by ads served by Google AdSense. nums itself doesn't set cookies, but third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to nums and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors' personalized ads at aboutads.info. For how Google uses information from sites that show its ads, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Where the law requires it, including in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before ads use cookies or personal data, and you can change your choice at any time.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we never use your submissions or device ID for advertising.
Who handles the data
nums is hosted on Vercel, and its database runs on Neon. They process data on our behalf only to provide those services. Google provides our ads, as described above.
Your choices
Clearing your browser's site data removes your device ID; you'll start fresh with a new one, and your earlier submissions will no longer be linked to you. To ask about or delete the submissions tied to your device, email us and include your device ID.
Children
nums is a general-audience game. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
